Richard Appleby
President/DOC/Treasurer/Field Assignor
Richard joined the club as Director of Coaching in 2019 and took over for founder Mike Jacobsen as President in 2021. He first started coaching girls HS while playing soccer at Coe College, a D3 school in Iowa. After 3 seasons as a Head coach for girls soccer at Jefferson HS, and 5 seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater, he and his wife moved to MN. He spent 1 season with St Mary’s University’s women’s team under a great coach, Neil Cassdy, before going to the Univeristy of Northwestern and coaching the men’s program as a graduate assistant, while earning his MBA. Richard holds his F license for USSF and a National Diploma through United Soccer Coaches. He lives in Hutchinson with his beautiful wife, Nina, and their 4 daughters, Annie, Ellie, Maggie and Clara. He also is the head coach for the local HS co-op team between Hutchinson and Glencoe Silver Lake.
